Dr. LaJuana M. Calegan

A highly experienced dentist who has been providing quality, patient-centric care for over 15 years, Dr. Calegan (formerly Dr. Ravens) is a welcome addition to the Wilmington Family Dental team. She makes it her mission to listen to the needs, concerns, and goals of each patient, explaining procedures in detail to ensure they are fully informed throughout the treatment process. Dr. Calegan prioritizes her patients’ comfort in all she does and is committed to making dental visits easy and enjoyable.

Having discovered her passion for dentistry in high school while working as a pediatric dental assistant, Dr. Calegan went on to achieve her DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2006. She completed an AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) residency with the U.S. Navy in Okinawa, Japan, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. John Hagigeorges

With 38 years of clinical experience and a wide range of professional accomplishments (he was voted “Best of Boston Dentists – 2022”), Dr. John Hagigeorges (aka, Dr. Hagi) is focused on earning every patient’s trust by exceeding their expectation with compassion, communication, and competent care. He’s also committed to providing honest and practical solutions to meet your unique needs and goals.

Dr. Hagi achieved his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he earned the class “Outstanding Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Award.” He completed two residencies – one at the US Military & Native American Hospitals in Ketchikan, Alaska, and the other at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Togus, Maine. He then completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Implant Prosthodontics and was a clinical instructor at Tufts University in 2009.

Dr. Hagi owned his own practice for 28 years and has trained thousands of dentists throughout North America in CAD-CAM techniques for a series of major dental companies. He was appointed CAD-CAM director of the largest award-winning practice in North Carolina, where he worked with beta-testing teams to continually improve the technology.

Dr. Kevin Guze

As a board-certified periodontist, Dr. Kevin Guze is an expert in diagnosing, preventing, and treating gum disease. He also performs all aspects of periodontic surgery, including advanced dental implant treatment. Combining experience and the latest techniques and technology, he’s devoted to providing patients exceptional care and delivering reliable, safe, and long-lasting results.

Dr. Guze pursued his vocation by first earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of British Columbia and completing a general practice residency at Vancouver General Hospital. He practiced in Vancouver for 12 years before hitting the books again at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He obtained a certification in periodontology and a Doctor of Medical Science degree. Dr. Guze also completed his Master’s degree in therapeutic research at Oxford University.

As a lifelong learner with a passion for what he does, Dr. Guze is also an instructor in the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection & Immunity at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. In 2009, he received the prestigious Goldhaber Research Prize. He conducts clinical trials to move inventions from the lab to the patient. In addition, he’s a diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology, fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, and a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists. He lectures nationally and internationally. At home, Dr. Guze enjoys playing hockey and tennis, going for hikes, and savoring quality time with his wife and four kids.

Dr. Shy Ni

Dr. Shy Ni uses a combination of both traditional techniques and today’s proven technology to focus on treating the gums and bones surrounding the teeth. Her patients are always her top priority, and she strives to ensure their comfort and satisfaction during every visit. As a professional in the dental industry, she takes great pride in making a significant difference in people's lives, not just by improving their oral health but also by enhancing their overall quality of life.

Dr. Shy Chwen Ni received her Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Merced, in 2010. She then pursued her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health, which she earned in 2019. In 2023, Dr. Shy Ni completed her Doctor of Medical Science degree in Periodontology from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She has been an invaluable member of our team ever since.

After being a stay-at-home mom for 14 years, Cheri began her career with us in 2004 at the front desk. She became the office manager in 2010 and has been in this position for an incredible 18 years! She enjoys being a part of a team that cares about patients’ needs and does her best to ensure they receive quality care, service, and attention outside of the dental chair. During her spare time, she loves being with her husband of 31 years, her three grown children, and her two grandsons. She also enjoys time at the lake with good friends.
