Meet Our Dental Experts In Wilmington

Having discovered her passion for dentistry in high school while working as a pediatric dental assistant, Dr. Calegan went on to achieve her DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2006. She completed an AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) residency with the U.S. Navy in Okinawa, Japan, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

When she’s not caring for smiles, Dr. Calegan stays active with her two sons and enjoys all things outdoors.

Dr. Hagi achieved his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he earned the class “Outstanding Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Award.” He completed two residencies – one at the US Military & Native American Hospitals in Ketchikan, Alaska, and the other at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Togus, Maine. He then completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Implant Prosthodontics and was a clinical instructor at Tufts University in 2009.

Dr. Hagi owned his own practice for 28 years and has trained thousands of dentists throughout North America in CAD-CAM techniques for a series of major dental companies. He was appointed CAD-CAM director of the largest award-winning practice in North Carolina, where he worked with beta-testing teams to continually improve the technology.

During his free time, Dr. Hagi loves being with Chrissoula, his wife of 34 years, and his adult children, Dina and Theo. He’s a devoted member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover, he enjoys traveling and learning about other cultures. Fun fact: Dr. Hagi was a Boston finalist for the second season of Gordon Ramsey’s TV show, Masterchef!

Dr. Guze pursued his vocation by first earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of British Columbia and completing a general practice residency at Vancouver General Hospital. He practiced in Vancouver for 12 years before hitting the books again at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He obtained a certification in periodontology and a Doctor of Medical Science degree. Dr. Guze also completed his Master’s degree in therapeutic research at Oxford University.

As a lifelong learner with a passion for what he does, Dr. Guze is also an instructor in the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection & Immunity at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. In 2009, he received the prestigious Goldhaber Research Prize. He conducts clinical trials to move inventions from the lab to the patient. In addition, he’s a diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology, fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, and a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists. He lectures nationally and internationally. At home, Dr. Guze enjoys playing hockey and tennis, going for hikes, and savoring quality time with his wife and four kids.

Dr. Shy Chwen Ni received her Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Merced, in 2010. She then pursued her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health, which she earned in 2019. In 2023, Dr. Shy Ni completed her Doctor of Medical Science degree in Periodontology from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She has been an invaluable member of our team ever since.

When not elevating her patients' oral health, Dr. Shy Ni can be found spending time outdoors with friends and family. She also enjoys dancing and practicing the art of Chinese calligraphy.
